Terms of service
These terms govern your use of StreamRated. By using the site you accept them.
Last updated 9 September 2026
1. Who we are
StreamRated is operated from Australia. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the operator of StreamRated, and “you” means anyone using the site, wherever you are.
2. What the service is
We publish reviews and ratings of live-stream channels written by viewers, alongside channel information drawn from the public APIs of Twitch, Kick and YouTube. Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them. They are not our opinions, and publishing one is not an endorsement of it.
We are not affiliated with Twitch, Kick or YouTube.
3. Your account
You need an account to write reviews, vote or reply. You sign in through a third-party platform, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not create more than one account to write more than one review of the same channel, and do not let anyone else use yours.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under 16, do not create an account.
4. Your review, and the rights you give us
You wrote it, and you keep it. You may use your own words anywhere else, at any time, including on another site. Nothing here takes that away, and clause 4.2 says so in the operative words.
4.1 When you submit a review or reply, you grant StreamRated an exclusive licence, for the full term of copyright, to reproduce, publish, communicate to the public, and adapt for formatting what you wrote. The grant covers copyright coming into existence as you write and takes effect the moment you submit.
4.2 We immediately license all of those rights back to you, without restriction, permanently and for nothing. So you can still post your words wherever you like. The exclusivity is there for one purpose, set out next.
4.3 Because the licence is exclusive, we can act in our own name against someone who copies your review without permission. You could not realistically do that yourself, and under a non-exclusive licence neither could we. If a court requires you to be joined as a party, you agree to be joined; we will tell you and we will pay the cost.
4.4 We may sublicense these rights only to publish your review on this service, and in a data feed licensed to a third party under a written agreement. Not for anything else.
4.5 When you agree to these terms we record your account, the time and the version of the terms, because the law treats this grant as a signed document.
4.6 If we remove your review, or you ask us to remove it, this licence ends for that review, except for copies already distributed.
You confirm that what you submit is your own, is your genuine first-hand experience, and does not infringe anyone’s rights.
5. Credit and moral rights
Your moral rights stay with you. Under Australian law they cannot be given away, and we are not asking you to try.
You do consent to these specific things, because the site cannot work otherwise:
- we publish your review under your display name, or as “Anonymous viewer” if you choose that, rather than your legal name;
- we shorten or excerpt it in search results, previews, badges, the stream overlay and link cards;
- we correct spelling and formatting, and remove parts that break the guidelines;
- we place it among other reviews and order it by score, date or usefulness.
That consent covers those acts on this service and in any feed we license. It does not go further.
6. What we own
You own your words. We own what we compute from them: scores, star bands, rankings, tag summaries, category and language groupings, and the record of what was moderated and why. Writing a review gives you no rights in any of that, and reading the site gives nobody else any rights in it either.
Follower counts, viewer numbers, categories, titles and thumbnails come from Twitch, Kick and YouTube under their developer terms. We do not own that data and we do not license it to anyone. Anything we ever syndicate contains our own material only.
7. Automated access
Read the site. Link to it. Search it. All fine.
Do not use a robot, crawler, scraper, headless browser or other automated means to collect, copy, index or store content from this site in bulk, or to build or train a dataset, database, index, model or service. Do not resell or redistribute what you take. Do not bypass or evade an access control, rate limit, sign-in requirement or block, and do not use another address, account or identity to get around one.
We reserve all rights to text and data mining of this site, including under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790. If you want to use this content to train or ground a model, ask us. Licences are available.
8. What you must not post
The review guidelines form part of these terms. In particular, do not post content that:
- alleges criminal conduct, abuse, or anything seriously damaging if untrue;
- discloses private information about anyone, including real names, addresses, contacts, employers or family;
- harasses, threatens or vilifies a person or group, or encourages others to do so;
- is knowingly false, or written about a channel you have not watched;
- you were paid or otherwise rewarded to write, or that you wrote about your own channel;
- infringes copyright, trade marks or other rights;
- is advertising, spam or automated.
9. Moderation and enforcement
Every review is assessed by a person before publication. We may refuse, hide, edit for formatting, or remove any content, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. We aim to be consistent and to record a reason for every decision, but we do not guarantee that any particular content will be published or remain published.
10. Streamers
A streamer who verifies control of a channel may reply publicly to reviews of it. Claiming a profile does not give any right to remove, hide, reorder or alter reviews, and we do not offer that right for payment in any form. Where content is unlawful, use the complaints process.
11. Availability
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. Channel statistics come from third-party APIs and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a guarantee applies and we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.
13. Liability
Subject to clause 9, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or reputation, arising from your use of the service or from content published by users.
14. Ending your use
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time, as described in the privacy policy. We may terminate or suspend access where these terms are breached.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted by the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
